Updates and events!

Hello SAW families,

Hopefully you have all received the September newsletter in your child’s backpack yesterday (kindergarten families will receive it today). Families with multiple children: please note only the oldest sibling received the Newsletter, but each child received their own verification form. Please take a moment to go through as there are lots of important details, as well as verification forms and student fee information. If you are missing any forms, please contact the school. Verification forms are due back Friday, September 23rd. Thank you for your attention to this.

Last night we held our first PAC meeting of the year, and it was an incredible turnout! Thank you to those who attended – the school is in for a treat this year with some amazing activities and fundraisers we have planned. Please note a few important pieces of information:

POPCORN DAYS: The first Friday of every month, the PAC will provide all students with popcorn.  ***THANK YOU Papworth Earthworks who will be covering the full cost of popcorn this year***, so that students can enjoy this special treat once a month. We are very grateful for these community donations!!

BOTTLE DRIVE!  The PAC will be accepting donations this Saturday, September 17th from 10-1pm in the parking lot. Please come on by and support our PAC!

TERRY FOX: Our Terry Fox run will be held the morning of Friday, September 23rd. PAC will be providing all students with pizza and fruit for lunch. Please continue to pack a recess snack.

MEET AND GREET: Please join us Tuesday, September 27th at the school from 5-6:30pm for a tour in the classrooms followed by pizza and mingling! PAC will provide order form details next week (medium size pizzas and drinks will be available to order). We are very much looking forward to meeting all of our families 🙂

ORANGE SHIRTS The PAC have purchased Salmon Arm West Orange Shirt Day t-shirts for ALL students. This is truly incredible and I would like to thank the PAC on behalf of the staff, students and families for this heartwarming initiative. Please do not go out and purchase an orange shirt for your child: we as a staff/PAC will hand them out to students the afternoon of Wednesday, September 28th. Students will then keep them at school the afternoon of the 28th to wear the morning of Thursday, September 29th for our assembly.  They will then bring them home that day.
