What a fantastic dance on May 11, to raise funds for the Shannon Sharp Outdoor learning circle! A sold out crowd and so much fun! The learning circle is so close to becoming a reality. We can’t wait! Thanks to Sharon Langlois and Kathryn Wuolle and their team for the many hours of work they put into the dance. Keep Shining!
Coming up this week:
Permission forms were sent home last week for the school wide swim on May 23. Please have these forms returned to the school by this Thursday at the latest.
Friday May 17: Pro D. No school for students. Teachers will be working on a number of different topics including literacy and numeracy. Ask us what we learn on pro D days- we love to talk about our own learning:)
Coming up…. Kindergarten orientation is June 3. All students entering Kindergarten at Salmon Arm West next year are invited for the afternoon. If your child is Kindergarten age and you haven’t registered yet, please come down to the school as soon as possible to do so. We are in the process of setting up classes for next year and the more accurate our lists are now the less the chance is of having to re-organize classes in the first week of school in September.
Have a fantastic week!!
The May sunshine has arrived! As the weather gets warmer in the afternoons, those jackets and hoodies seem to be shed and left behind at school. Please have a look in the lost and found and see if your children might have left behind some clothing:)
Last week’s cross country race at Silver Creek was a big success. Our little school had 56 runners at the event!
May 9 is our final Cross Country run of the year. This run takes place at Little Mountain, starting at 1 p.m. Students will be taking the bus to the run, but parents need to pick their child up from the Field of Dreams. The bus will NOT be heading back to the school.
We are super excited to let you know that the fundraising dance this weekend for the Shannon Sharp Learning Circle is sold out! We are getting closer to making this dream a reality!
Have a fantastic week!
May already? Sure didn’t feel that warm on our weekend bottle drive and garage sale:)
The garage sale will continue inside our halls this week if you missed out on the great deals! Thanks to everyone who contributed bottles, or donated items or shopped! We have made over $800 so far on the garage sale to go towards our Shannon Sharp outdoor learning circle.
The Shannon Sharp outdoor learning circle fundraiser is going well. We are half way to our $30 000 goal and we hope to start construction soon. We are still fundraising as much as possible. Donations are gratefully accepted!
