March 11-15

Spring Break is coming!!

Hopefully all report cards made it home on Friday March 8, 2019.  Please sign and return the envelope to the school. We are always happy to discuss your child’s progress and how we can work together to support their learning. We encourage parents to check in frequently with their child’s teacher via phone calls, in person meetings or emails.  We feel truly honoured to be part of your child’s life and the closer we work with families the better it is!

This week is our last week before spring break.

Thursday March 14 is our annual talent show. Join us for an entertaining afternoon in the gym from 1-2 p.m. We have wonderfully talented students and this is sure to be a fun afternoon. Thanks to Mrs. Tomlinson for organizing this event.

Friday March 15 is “Green” day in anticipation of St. Patrick’s day.

We hope you have a wonderful spring break. We look forward to seeing everyone again on April 1.

March 4-8

If March comes in like the Arctic does it go out like the Caribbean? Please?

Brrr it is cold. We are conscious of the weather and are keeping students inside when it is bitterly cold, however, we remind people to come to school dressed for the cold. We are trying to get outside at recess and lunch breaks when it warms up a bit as the sunshine is beautiful and we all benefit from fresh air. Toques,  mitts, warm jackets… all still needed for this cold spell that seems to be lasting a long time!

A reminder that there is NO swimming this week or next week, due to staff shortages at the pool.

Also a reminder that report cards will be coming home on Friday March 8, 2019. Check those backpacks:)

Have a fantastic week and enjoy the sunshine!

Feb 25-March 1

Thank you to everyone who volunteered, donated to and attended our Farmer’s Bingo! Such a great evening! Well done, PAC and volunteers!

School wide swimming lessons are coming up quickly. Notices were sent home last week and it is important that the notices are returned to the school by Thursday Feb 28 so that we can get everything organized for the following week.

Art fair notices also went home with selected grade 4 and 5 students. Please ensure these notices are returned by Feb 28 as well.

Report cards will be coming home on March 8. Watch for these and check the bottom of backpacks:)

Have a fantastic week!

Feb 18-22

It’s Farmer’s Bingo week!

Our annual Farmer’s Bingo will be held on Thursday Feb 21 at Salmon Arm West. This is the biggest fundraising activity of the year and is guaranteed to be a great evening! Doors will open at 5 p.m. and Bingo starts at 6 p.m. There will be great prizes, great company and a great silent auction. Come out and support our school! Thank you to our PAC for organizing this annual activity.

Feb 11-15

It’s almost time for Farmer’s Bingo! We still need help with this on the evening of February 21, 2019. Please contact Steffanie Bland at steffieb@live.ca if you can help, or call Wanda at the school and leave your name and number.

Friday Feb 15 is a Pro D day. Teachers will be in workshops all day, but there is no school for students on this day.  Monday February 18 is Family Day. Enjoy time with your family! Hopefully it warms up by then!

Report cards will be coming home on March 8. This will be the first formal written report of the year, and will reflect progress up until this point of the year as well as progress on the goals that parents, students and teachers set in November. As always, we appreciate opportunities to connect with parents so we can work together to support children so never hesitate to contact your child’s teacher to discuss their progress:)

Have a wonderful week.
