Hello families,
We will be collecting donations of non-perishable food items (dried pasta, rice, tinned goods (soups, vegetables, fruit, tuna, and salmon) etc., as well as new unwrapped gifts and gift cards from December 8 – 14th. Please drop off any donations at the office or send them with your child before Wednesday, December 14th. All donations will be gathered to add to “Winter Hampers” for a number of Salmon Arm West Elementary families and to support the Salmon Arm Food Bank. Thank you so very much for your support.
So many great things have been happening here at Salmon Arm West: spirit days, PAC movie night at the Salmar Classic, hot lunches, buddy classes, tennis lessons, a trip to the landfill to learn how to sort and care for our environment, and even a salmon egg delivery! We now have 50 Chinook Salmon eggs in our tank from a Salmon fish named Flower. Flower had over 6000 eggs, 50 of which we will have the opportunity to feed, watch them grow, and once hatched we will release them into the river. Thank you to Shona and the Stream to Sea program for this exciting opportunity!
We have also begun to organize hampers and would ask that any donations of non-perishable food items, or new unwrapped toys, please be dropped off to the school. If you did not receive an email from Mme. Jègues regarding the hampers and Family Affordability supports available, please reach out by email ljegues@sd83.bc.ca or by calling the school.
We hope everyone has a wonderful weekend ahead. Stay warm, and please take care of yourselves and each another.
